SuiteCRM is, without a doubt, excellent when compared to other CRMs and Magento is the king amongst other eCommerce arrangements. Combining these two IT solutions brings about many advantages for a business, and that makes SuiteCRM and Magento integration an intriguing discussion for magento development company.

What is Magento?

Magento is the best open-source eCommerce platform that handles over $100 billion in gross merchandise volume annually. The convenience of this system is clear from the way that it has been downloaded by more than 1 million registered customers.

An eCommerce platform is fundamentally a software application that enables online businesses to manage their website, orders, and activities. Online business platforms bring together business activities and furthermore, offer amazing features for organizations to work easily.

6 Qualities of Magento

  • The best and most popular eCommerce platform for selling on the web
  • Adaptable and open-source programming
  • An innovative team of people
  • A highly customizable eCommerce platform
  • Expert implementation team
  • Increases online sales and reduces costs
Modules of Magento Bridge

Magento Bridge is a boon for accounting and sales teams for a complete overview of a business, customers, and orders in real-time. The module covers the following modules:
  • Customer
  • Product
  • Quotations (Abandon Cart)
  • Orders
  • Leads
Let’s read about them in detail.

Customer – It synchronizes the customer information of Magento with the CRM database using two-way synchronization, and the updates are reflected in the contact module of CRM.

Product – Users can view and manage with all their products on the Magento store and furthermore, make changes to the stock according to needs. The exhaustion of product inventory can be noticed by users in real-time and measures can be taken with the goal that customers will never find any product out of stock on the store.

Quotations (Abandoned Cart) – It includes and shows the information of all abandoned carts on the quotation page. The salespeople can follow up with the abandoned carts and send customized orders to them in order to increase conversions.

Orders – Magento orders are visible on the CRM dashboard when they are uploaded on the website. A well-organized order management page guarantees that business activities are more effective and improve customer service.

Leads – A third-party API will assist customers to import leads from contact pages, websites or blogs. The team can then reach out to the leads and move them up the conversion funnel.

We have understood how the Magento Bridge works. If you want to avail of these benefits, then hire magento developer online.

Reasons Why You Should Integrate SuiteCRM with Magento

Smooth and Efficient Order Processing

The integration enables you to gather a huge amount of information about customers including orders, requests, products in the wishlist, recently viewed products and abandoned carts. This creates a better experience for both the customers and salespeople.

Multi-Channel Marketing

Debunking Some Most Common Myths Surrounding Magento

It is a common phenomenon that whenever something gets high on popularity, people tend to talk about it. The stage of e-commerce is no different, and with so many CMS getting recognition among e-commerce store owners, it is evident that a theme, an extension, or the plug-in is bound to get popular among e-commerce shop owners. Magento is one such e-commerce platform scoring high on all terms in the past years, and today we will see how some myths surrounding the platform gets debunked before you even plan to hire magento developer and get your project started.

Magento is as good as a tortoise

This is the most common myth if you ask any magento development company wherein most people believe that Magento is quite slow as compared to its contemporaries with the likes of Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, etc. However, most people don't realize that the performance of a CMS depends on several factors. It is not just about features and functionalities within a platform; it is even about the hosting as well as the number of themes and plug-ins needed to be optimized.

If Magento had been that slow, then the giants like Adidas and Nike would haven't been using this platform. Magento developers have been optimizing this e-commerce platform for years now, and with every update, Magento gets faster. On and all, this is a complete myth as Magento has never been “Slow Magento” as termed by most developers or users.

Magento is a complete freebie

When looking at Magento from the core, it might appear to be free to use an open-source, as what has been mentioned in the official documentation. But when you start using the CMS, you realize that if you want to empower Magento for building a classy e-commerce store, you need to go for a paid “enterprise version” that will cost you big time but surely make your e-commerce shop look happening with a top-notch performance. Even with a free version, you need to invest in buying themes backed by extensions and other tools to have your website compete like a competitive beast.

Magento is a cakewalk to deal with

You might have found downloading Magento way lot easier. But once downloaded, you would slowly and gradually realize that Magento is certainly not a walk in the park, as most developers say. It all depends upon the kind of experience laying with the developers that decide whether Magento is a tough job to crack or not.

Surely, for an average person, is it not that easy to deal with given the fact that it is built on Zend framework that's one heck of a complicated platform. Hence you need to be very cautious with every stage of using the platform. To make the best use of Magento, either you need some expertise in PHP, or at the least know somewhat about the Zen framework.

Magento is a toy for large scale businesses only

Almost 25% of the world’s online stores are built in Magento. The comprehensive list of e-commerce giants, including Adidas, Samsung, Nike, and more. These names certainly tend to prove this myth, but the reality is way different.

Magento is a highly flexible CMS that can be scaled as per the size of the business, and this is the reason why not just large scale businesses but even small and mid-size businesses also use Magento as a preferable e-commerce platform. The only thing you should know is what your business actually needs. While you are clear regarding the goals of your business, you can have an eCommerce platform deployed in Magento in such a manner that it allows scope for scaling at a later stage.

Magento is devoid of people for technical support

Since Magento is a free CMS that everybody can adapt to for building their online shop or store, there are thousands of businesses that would prefer to make optimum use of the platform to climb on the success ladder. In such a scenario, Magento cannot have people serving support to every single individual. However, when you choose an enterprise version, you can expect customer support round the clock 24 x 7, which might not be solvable even if you hire magento developer and technical to deal with.

So, it all depends on the version you choose that decides whether Magento offers customer support or not. Even if you can't afford a paid version, and still using the free version, there is an extensive community of Magento fans and followers who are ready to help you with every single technical hurdle or roadblock that you might come across. You might just need to shell out a minimal fee for on the spot support.

Our thoughts on Magento myths!

So, we saw how we debunked some of the most common myths surrounding every single magento development company that wasn’t actually true. The reason why so many talks take place with Magento is the tremendous underlying popularity with developers as well as e-commerce website owners. But, now you know what the reality lying behind is, and we hope that it helps you in deciding whether Magento is an ideal platform for you are not.

We would like to welcome your thoughts on this discussion, and if you have a Magento project to discuss, then we are more than happy to help you!

Build a Fascinating Store with Magento Best Development Practices

While developing a Magento store, business owners are thronged with requirements and innovative ideas. To avoid the dilemma of sinking their heads into the ocean of necessities, they hire magento developer to take the onus on him. Magento has been known for its flexible features and ease of development to build a fascinating store with minimal fuss. However, the Magento developers, be it a newbie or a geek, often forget the best development practices to get the utmost output. This article might act as a reckoner for the Magento best development practices.

Follow Standard Coding Practices

Often the developers crumble under pressure and focus on getting the development complete as soon as possible without bothering about the standard coding practices. This leaves the system susceptible to maintenance issues in case it is performed by another developer owing to the avoidance of standard practices. Quality coding is ensured by following the standard coding practices accepted throughout the Magento community. Apart from this, it enhances the readability and understandability of the code. Make sure that you are following Zend along with PS1, PS2, and PS4 Magento coding standards.

Avoid Modifying the Core Files

A common programming gaffe made by developers is editing the Magento system files to achieve customization. The rule of thumb in Magento development is that it never messes with Magento's core files as it leaves the system exposed to vulnerabilities. To avoid modifying the system files and still achieve the desired customization, one can either opt for third-party extensions or create a copy of the system file to make the necessary changes. This allows the update of Magento to overwrite the system files instead of the customized code. In case you alter the core file, you might need to do the customization again, and it might hamper the default behavior of Magento as well.

Follow the Modular Approach of Development

The Magento framework is comprised of the default code and optional components used to replace or alter the default code. These optional components are present in three digits in the form of themes, language packages, modules, etc. Magento allows the user to build his customized components. This gives the developer the flexibility to include new functionality as per his requirement not available in Magento by default. The developer simply inherits the main class and reuses the code already written in the main class if he follows the modular approach. Only the new requirements need to be coded, saving a lot of valuable time of the developer. This principle should also be followed by the magento development company in india hired for developing the store.

Enable the Cache and Clear it Regularly

The cache should be enabled for enhancing the load speed and performance of the Magento store. The cache eliminates the performance bottlenecks in case of heavy image files and distant server locations. Moreover, whenever changes are done in the store in content or functionality, the cache should be cleared. It ensures that the latest content or functionality is displayed visually on the website instead of the outdated one. The cache should also be cleared while including newly designed Magento components, to make sure that the system doesn’t throw exceptions. The cache should be cleared to reflect the changes in the configuration, cacheable block, the CMS pages, etc. The command used to clear the cache from var/page_cache or var/cache directories is as follows - “ php –f bin/ magento cache: clean”.

Write Reusable Code Wherever Possible

The developers should code for the new features by using the concept of functions or classes to enhance the reusability of code. The redundancy in code is avoided by this approach, and this function or class is simply called or referenced to shave the development time. The code should be concise and focused to provide a general solution rather than a specific one, to improve its reusability.

Concluding Words

The Magento store owners often fret about the frequent amendments required to include new features on their sites. They generally hire a Magento development company in India to take care of a smooth transition from the old to the new version of the store. The online stores try hard to gratify the users by improving the visual appeal. This process of changeover from the old theme to a new theme should be handled carefully even if they hire a Magento developer to do the same. The developers, in-house or outsourced, should follow the above-mentioned Magento development practices to leave any chances of vulnerability or malfunction in the store. The store owners should make sure that these developers are instructed to follow these best development practices to get the best possible outcome.

The Steps For Set Up A CDN (Amazon CloudFront) in Magento

A key metric for an online business is its loading speed. The website speed depends on numerous factors, but the most important is the distance between the website hosting server and the client. This problem was unfathomable before the Content Delivery Network (CDN). A CDN lets the customer download content from a nearby server instead of the website hosting server. This trims down the latency, enhancing the website speed to a considerable extent. Amazon CloudFront is Amazon’s (CDN) created to deliver the content of all types securely to the clients.

The Need of CDN

The assets of websites are distributed to different locations on the Internet with the help of a CDN, which in turn, boosts the website’s speed. The assets include JavaScript and CSS files, along with images. This concept is crucial for Magento stores as they employ countless JavaScript and CSS files, especially after store owners hire magento developer for customizing the store. So, any way to transport this faster is more than welcome. The website content is delivered from the website hosting server by default, which has quite a few stumbling blocks:
  • The farther the user from the website hosting server, the more the latency associated with each asset. The server might not be honed to display images efficiently.
  • While downloading multiple assets, the client’s browser has to wait until all the assets are downloaded. This concern is handled by the domain sharding concept.
  • An overloaded web server takes indefinite time to respond to the request of an asset.
  • The CDN resolves all the above-mentioned issues by addressing the problem at the core. Let us go through the steps involved in setting up Amazon’s CDN in Magento.
Steps to Setup new CDN

The online stores hire magento developer online to include Amazon CloudFront with their stores. However, they can do it themselves by going through these steps. First of all, an AWS account needs to be set up. After this, a Distribution is created, followed by setting up Access-Control-Allow-Origin for static assets. Then, a new URL is created for these assets and static media. Let us explore these steps further.

Step 1: Logging in to an AWS account

The foremost requirement for setting up an Amazon CloudFront is creating up an AWS account and activating it by feeding the credit card number in its payment section. After logging into the system, choose CloudFront from the services drop-down list. Now, the Create Distribution button needs to be hit. Depending on the asset types, different distribution needs to be created in CloudFront to enable domain sharding. Domain sharding allows parallel downloads from sub-domains allowing quicker downloads. Various sub-domains are used for different types of assets.

Step 2: Creating Distribution

Now the Origin Settings configurations are done. The website domain name is entered in the Origin Domain Name field. The Amazon ID used to uniquely identify the store is specified in the Origin ID field. The path of static assets needs to be entered in the Origin Path field. The protocol of Magento store, i.e., HTTP or HTTPS, is selected in the Origin Protocol Policy field. For making both the protocols compatible, select Match Viewer instead of HTTP or HTTPS. The cache settings can be changed using the Default Cache Behavior Settings tab. The Path Pattern should be set to * to permit cross-origin resource sharing. The relevant protocol is selected from the Viewer Protocol Policy field. The appropriate methods should be selected from the Allowed HTTP Methods field. It is better to choose all the methods mentioned in the last option. Now, Distribution Settings need to be configured. The sub-domain to be used to replace the domain is entered in the CNAME field. The sub-domain should point to *.cloudfront.net in this case. Now, press the Create Distribution button, and the deployment process starts.

Step 3: Setting Up Access-Control-Allow-Origin

Prior to finishing the final stage of the configuration of Magento, the website hosting server settings need to be tweaked to make sure that it permits the browsers to download different assets from different domains. The browsers otherwise identify this as a security threat, so this is done intentionally to inform the browsers that it is not a security risk. It is possible with the use of header Access-Control-Allow-Origin. This can be configured using the hosting support providers or the system admin using either the base configuration settings or the htaccess.

Step 4: Creating a new URL for static assets

Now, the final stage involves mentioning the domain of static assets created earlier to Magento. Specify the domain name created for static files in Configuration>Web>Base URLs. Mention the domain name created for media files in Configuration>Web>Base URLs (Secure). Now you are almost done once you save the configuration files and clear the installation cache. Now visit the front end to see the changes in domains. One can also verify the CDN implementation using tools like webpagetest. Any requests to the Magento store will now be redirected to the recently configured Amazon CloudFront CDN.

Concluding Remarks

The performance and speed of the Magento store can be considerably improved by setting up the Amazon CloudFront CDN. The stores having presence spanning multiple countries or states need to use a CDN for flicker-free websites. To conclude, CDN not only ensures that the website is loaded quickly; it also reduces the cart abandonment rate significantly. In addition to these benefits, it increases the conversion rate as well.
